Grace sessions 11

Matthew 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

........His righteousness is everything......... Today's devotional scripture is very foundational and key to our unshakable establishment into the eternity and riches of the kingdom of God. It is therefore important to give careful revelational study to this scripture for our effective establishment into this kingdom.

The first and in that verse is functioning as a connective conjunction, building the right context and giving the true meaning around what the kingdom of God is about in that verse. Therefore putting it in another way, we can say that 'seek ye first the kingdom of God in/about His righteousness'.

This verse is saying that the kingdom of God is about the Righteousness of God. Jesus in all His finished work is this perfect Righteousness of God and we have it as a gift of Grace through faith and not by our own works. So dear Saint our focus is on Jesus and His finished work, and this is freely our Righteousness now, our own good works can never earn us any of God's good gifts that we need in our lives.

Food, clothing, money etc have all been added to us freely because we are the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You are righteous because of Jesus hence the kingdom of God in all its spiritual and physical goodness is yours.

Luke 1:28  And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

........You are highly favoured.......Grace is unmerited favour, our Lord Jesus came with unmerited favour (John1:17) and our Lord Jesus is unmerited favour (John 1:14). In the old testament under law, grace was concealed in a picture or shadow of the real thing.

In the new testament through Jesus Christ, the fullness of Grace which was not in a shadow or picture of the real thing was given to us, Grace became revealed to us. ' Highly favoured ' means fully revealed favour or the fullness of favour (John 1:16). It meant mankind experiencing a new testament kind of favour through a miracle that did not need the help or strength of man as in the old testament but purely the power of God overcoming Mary here and working through her.

Expect God in His full power in your life, know and believe that you are highly favoured and you will give birth to a great work of God/ a great miracle purely God organised. Say this to yourself, "I'm highly favoured and see great works of favour in your life.
